October: A Month of Challenges, Emotions, and Progress

From high-level matches and first training sessions with the First Team to formative experiences, our players reached a new level

October proved to be an intense and defining month for our academy athletes. Between official competitions, top-tier friendlies, and first selections with the First Team, each week brought its share of challenges, lessons, and unforgettable moments—both on and off the pitch. Whether in victory or adversity, our young talents displayed character, commitment, and a strong desire to grow. Here's a look back at four weeks of football driven by ambition and the will to go further.

MATCHES – U23: A Month of Strong Performances

The U23s kicked off October with a bang in the BUCS Championship, which launched its season in the second week. Their opening game against City of Glasgow College was a huge success, ending in a dominant 8-3 victory. This result boosted the players' confidence and set a positive tone for the matches ahead.

The second game, against Glasgow Caledonian University, was a true test, ending in a 2-2 draw packed with intensity and twists. Our players showed strong team spirit while facing tactical adversity in a hard-fought contest.

Meanwhile, thanks to the academy's network, a friendly match was organized against Celtic FC's youth academy—one of Scotland’s top development teams. Despite a 3-0 defeat, our players created numerous chances and stayed composed under pressure, gaining invaluable experience for even greater challenges ahead.

MATCHES – U20: A Tough Month, Full of Promise

Our U20s were also busy competing in the Development League throughout October. While the team faced three narrow defeats, the matches remained competitive. Finishing plays has become a key area for improvement, and our young talents showed they have what it takes to bounce back. Their fighting spirit remains one of their biggest strengths, and with continued effort and focus, the results will surely follow.

MATCHES – FIRST TEAM: A Big Step Forward for Our Players

October also marked a major milestone for four of our U23 players, who were selected to play with the First Team. This was a high-level experience and a reward for their dedication since the beginning of the season. The match itself was physical and competitive, ending in a 2-1 loss, but the feedback received was overwhelmingly positive. This taste of elite competition left a strong impression and lit a fire in these young players to keep pushing for more opportunities.

October was a month of learning and progression, filled with joy and frustration—but always with a collective mindset and relentless perseverance. Every match is a stepping stone, and November promises even more challenges and chances to shine!
